 A & J Russell Bagpipes was set up in 1997 by father & son Jim & Allan Russell manufacturing finest quality hand made bagpipes and reeds from the workshop in West Fife. Jim does all the bagpipe & chanter turning work and Allan the finishing and testing. Every instrument is reeded & made ready to play by Allan. The reeds are manufactured jointly with Allan doing the finishing & testing.  We source highest quality raw materials and nothing is mass produced to give the highest quality finish and sound for a very competitive price. Each instrument can be tailored made to suit the budget and ability in the individual from novice to professional. Allan was involved in the pipe band scene in the early nineties as pipe major of the Inverkeithing pipe band. After a successful time in grade 3 & 2 Allan joined the Vale of Atholl pipe band. Allan now concentrates on the solo piping scene and has been successful in the Argyllshire Gathering & Northern Meeting competitions amongst others. He now plays in the Gold medal & Former Winners at the Argyllshire Gathering & the Northern Meeting competitions and is a regular  competitor at the Highland Games.  Allan can advise on which model would suit your individual requirements or customize any combination to your individual taste.
